America Reads The Bible
April 18, 2026 Pre-Event Celebration
April 19-25, 2026 America Reads The Bible
Discover the Bible again or for the first time, join us in Washington, D.C. or on the live stream for the national event and movement. Together we can inspire others to interact with God's Word during this crucial time in America's history.
Just as Ezra read the Word aloud to the people of Israel (Nehemiah 8:1–3), awakening revival and repentance, inspiring them to rebuild the temple, and working with Nehemiah to mobilize the people to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, America Reads the Bible is a sacred opportunity to call our nation back to its spiritual foundations. Through a public, continuous reading of the entire Bible in our nation’s capital by our national leaders from all spheres of influence, we believe God can spark revival in individual hearts and inspire Americans to carry the Word forward in their lives and communities into the next 250 years of our national story.

Why Read the Bible?
Reading the Bible isn’t just a spiritual habit — it’s a catalyst for transformation in individuals, communities, and even nations.
Recent studies show that reading the Bible at least four times a week produces measurable improvements in a person’s spiritual, emotional, and behavioral health. People who engage with Scripture consistently are*:
62% less likely to drink to excess
59% less likely to view pornography
59% less likely to engage in sex outside of marriage
45% less likely to gamble
And the impact doesn’t stop there. People who read the Bible regularly are also:
• 228% more likely to share their faith
• 231% more likely to disciple others
• 407% more likely to memorize Scripture
Reading God’s Word doesn’t just restrain destructive behavior — it ignites bold, constructive action. It equips people to lead with wisdom, love with depth, and live with clarity.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Anyone is welcome! Whether you’re a pastor, student, parent, business leader, or someone curious about Scripture, you’re invited to join us. All are welcome to attend the live reading and engage with our exhibits and partner activations throughout the week.
-
Yes! Children are welcome, and we encourage families to experience the Bible together. While some programming is best suited for older children and teens, the museum environment offers opportunities for younger kids to engage meaningfully with Scripture.
Please note: the live Bible reading inside the World Stage Theater is being professionally recorded and live-streamed, and will ultimately become part of a video Bible and audio Bible available for ongoing use and distribution. Because of this, we ask that only guests — including children — who can reliably remain quiet and non-disruptive attend this portion of the event. Maintaining a focused, reverent environment helps protect the integrity of the experience for both in-person and future audiences.
