Mary Carmen Englert, founder of Seven Pathways will inspire you through sharing her remarkable story of writing two books through her rare cancer journey and finding the strength to persevere and stay in a place of hope through her newfound daily practice of seven ancient Biblical pathways. Her Seven Pathways event will be held on Monday, April 20th from 5pm-8pm, and the location is a short walk from the America Reads the Bible events at the Museum of the Bible. The seven pathways presentation will start at 6:15pm. Also, you will have the opportunity to engage in some hands-on experiences for a few of the pathways at your own pace.
Her seven-step method of spending time with God calmed the virtual noise in her life and shifted her focus to grieve loss with hope and push through pain with strength, wisdom, and purpose. During the editing stage of writing her book, Seven Pathways: Ancient Practices for a Deeper Relationship with God and a six-week Bible study, Seven Pathways: Journey through the Gospel, she received the diagnosis of her head and neck cancer, acinic cell cancer. She continued to say, “yes” to small steps of writing and her health journey towards finding the faithful presence of the Lord in this difficult season, joy in the small things, and unexpected gifts and healing through suffering.
These practices are not new to Mary Carmen as she is a longtime practitioner of the pathways, beginning to practice many as a teen and then writing & teaching a class at her church many years ago using some of these practices through studying part of the Gospel of John. Almost 15 years later, the Lord invited her back to these practices through her cancer journey and to then share these life-giving practices that are a gift from Him with all of you.
You will be inspired, encouraged, and equipped with these seven pathways to help you develop consistency and set your focus, overcoming modern distraction and finding strength and enduring hope through life’s difficulties, so that you are more formed by your Creator than the chaos of the world. Enjoy fellowship with others over hors d'oeuvres & sodas, coffee, and tea. More details and a link to register to come, so check back!
